Project Philosophy
The primary value of sponsored projects to the Iron Range Engineering program and its students is educational. Another important value of sponsored projects to the Iron Range Engineering program and its students is the consideration of the project sponsor to employing Iron Range Engineering students as interns if prior to graduation or full-time engineers upon graduation.
As such, it is recognized that a balance of intellectual property value exists between the definition of the problem to be solved (project sponsor) and the solution(s) to the problem (Iron Range Engineering students). To this end, Iron Range Engineering seeks a long-term relationship with project sponsors whereby mutual benefit is the driving force behind each project
